The Fund Manager
Sarasin & Partners LLP is a London-based asset management group that manages around £17 billion for a wide range of clients. These include intermediaries, charities, institutions, pension funds and private clients, from the UK and around the world. Established in 1983, they currently employ over 220 people, including around 89 investment professionals. They operate as a partnership, with local management owning 40% of the equity of the firm. The remainder is owned by Bank J Safra Sarasin, a leading sustainable Swiss private bank founded in 1841. They themselves are responsible for managing over £144 billion of assets.
Sarasin and Partners utilise a thematic investment philosophy that helps them develop perspective by taking a top down view of the world, identifying trends and themes that bring some order to the chaos of a rapidly changing world. Thinking thematically narrows their investment universe to companies that benefit from these themes, while searching for sustainable change. Sarasin believe this gives them a better perspective of the investment opportunities available, and ultimately provides clients with superior long-term returns.
